Here's Texas Hold 'em for Poker Lovers

Texas hold’em is the most popular of the community card poker games and in western America it is the best poker variant played in casinos. Though the game can be played by up to 22 players, it is usually played with between two people or ten. Texas hold’em is influenced from the Seven Card Stud variation of poker and is sometimes referred to as “the big six”. The term “shotgun” refers to a hand in which an Ace and a King enter the flop, making a pair, which can potentially lead to a large number of floors with a high share of the pot.

The origin of Texas hold’em is disputed. One theory states that it was invented by Tom McEvoy, a Pennsylvanian card player, who borrowed the symbols for the cards from a French game called “vingt-et-un” which is played in the early 19th century. Though “vingt-et-un” is not related to Texas hold’em, it is conceivable that it could have origins that would connect it to the Texas Hold ’em version of poker. Another theory states that it was invented by a group of Texan gamblers in the early 1900s who would play a game called “three-card” which had both the same face cards and different tens cards. This would fold the hand if a pair of tens or any card higher than that were on the table. This would be an early version of Texas hold’em. In addition, the “three-card” game was later combined with the draw poker game in the 1970s.

In the 1950s, a company known as Stalwart developed the first version of the Texas hold’em used in casinos. They attaching a special card protector to the deck of cards and changed the suit in order to make it more custom. This was the beginning of the standard deck of cards that we know today.
